We would like to introduce our new colleague Mark who has recently joined our team to all of you. He will start joining us on the Vancouver rock and mineral show at August 11th, 2017. He will bring his expertise to our booth to offer design suggestions or help with techniques. And the best part - he'll set your stones in our findings for FREE! Bring some cut stones (or buy some at the show!) and Mark will help you pick out the perfect finding and demonstrate the steps for a perfect setting every time. Take home a finished piece AND some valuable knowledge, it's a win-win!
Here is the biography for Mark: Mark Lareau is a noted jewellery teacher, author, and jeweller. He's received training in jewelry and silversmithing from some of the most renown masters in the world. He is a best selling author of two jewellery making books ("All Wired Up" and "Getting Started Making Metal Jewelry") and has taught jewellery fabrication for 25 years, first at The Bead Factory in Tacoma, WA and then at the Lareau Jewelry Design Center in Lakewood. Along the way he has taught hundreds of workshops at various trade shows and jewellery studios throughout Canada and the US.

We come to Victoria in the third week of August. The show is located at Tillicum centre in Victoria. We have a much bigger booth to display our items than the one we had in March. We love this location because it has so much free parking space, there is a big mall right next to it, and the transportation is pretty good. This time we give Silvia some space for the jewellery that she made with our sterling silver findings. She made all of these with her own ideas. She is selling them in unreal prices!! Silvia's "booth" Good saleslady Interview with Chek News We find that Victoria has more beading customers than setting. Mark has only one setting to do on Friday whereas there was line ups of customers waiting for Mark to set their stones for them in the Vancouver show. Mark doing his work Some beautiful finished jewellery We asked some of our loyal customers how they do, all of them saying that the business is very good thanks to the good quality findings we are providing. Victoria is a famous tourist city thanks to the beautiful views and all the ports around it to make it convenient to travel. Thus, many jewellery designer with lots of wonderful ideas can grow their business here easily. We know that we will be waiting for a while at the terminal on our way home. So we give extra effort when tearing down our booth which turns out to be the fastest record for us. We get to the ferry terminal at about 7:00 P.M. and are hoping to take the 8:00 P.M. one. Unfortunately the 8:00 P.M. is already full, and the next one is already at 87% full, this is not even the worst part. The 9:00 P.M. ferry is delayed for 45 minutes because there is too many passengers to get on the ferry on both terminals and one of the four engines on the ferry is broken. By the time we get home, all of us are very tired and we just roll on to our beds. On the other hand, it proves how attractive Victoria is and we cannot wait to come back again.
