This sterling silver bead has been cast in a side flat disc shape with dots arranged around the perimeter. This spacer has a very large opening with a silicone insert with a much smaller hole that allows you to string this onto chains or other thick stringing material. When strung, the silicone insert will expand, allowing you to create "stoppers" holding other beads in place along your design. Spacer beads are thinner in side-width than usual beads. They are often used by jewelers, jewelry designers and artists to alter the overall look an appearance of their designs. Normally smaller than the main beads of your design, they are most often used as accents between beads or charms. They're also great as a filler, or to add length to your designs, or to draw attention or add an interesting color contrast within your designs.

The smaller width of spacer bead add more flexibility in neck curves and bracelet circumferences versus larger beads.
