These solid 18Kt gold (not plated) 20 gauge earwires are an interesting twist on a classic cup & peg mounting for pearls or half-drilled stones. The "twist" is the screw-on 4mm ball that locks the earwire onto your ear. A half-drilled pearl or other stone would be glued onto the cup & peg mounting using a clear-drying 2-part epoxy. They are lightweight, economical, and popular for many jewelers, jewelry designers and artists as versatile foundations for making earrings. The ear wire screw-end passes through the pierced ear, and the ball is screwed onto it, creating very interesting front & back accents.
